After the closing of the school in 1924, the Baptist Home of WInnebago was established from the old school's dormitory after it was bought by the local Baptist church. This nursing home ran as an independent enterprise of the local Baptists and volunteers until the larger Baptist group decided to include long term care as a part of the church. In the early 1990's, the name changed to Parker Oaks to honor the memory of the old Parker college as well as to reflect the beauty of the surrounding area. Also, the nursing home expanded greatly in the early 1990's creating an assisted living wing, independent apartments, and a community center. Soon after, the home became renamed again to include "Communities Inc." at the end of the name.
